An End Of An Era

Thank you to everyone that came along yesterday to celebrate and share memories of the last few years cropping at Wyverstone and to learn more about our exciting plans for Create & Co.

We loved the designs you all created with the sketch and frames - it was fantastic to see everyone's own personal style and ideas, something that we love to see emerge and grow.

We have just a few of those to share below -

We are pleased that you all found our new Newsletter a helpful tool in being able to note those all important crop dates in your diary as well as having a permanent record of the months sketch and other news besides.

We will ensure that every month you will have this Newsletter not only in print but also emailed to everyone on the data base - this way anyone that couldn't make it along one month still has all the news, ideas and other information to hand at the same time as those of you that could make it along.

Within the Newsletter we plan to make sure we also have a close up of the kit that is included in your crop fee as well as photo and tool information too - great for getting organised a whole month ahead!

We are pleased to tell you that we will have a Create & Crop tool bank - included in this is a Cricut (along with cartridges), a whole host of clear stamp and sewing machine; with more being added each month.

Look out for information regarding our FREE May Crop coming soon, 5 classes all included in the day too!

Turn It About!

Sheena has taken part in the challlenge too, we love the way she has turned it on its head to create a slighty different look...

"These photos of the children playing on a pedallo slide in spain were taken on a underwater camera so are not great but these hybrid frames really help them pop off the page."

Blog Hopping

It has been great to see other scrappers taking part in our new crop blog even though they live a little too far to actually come along - but why not join in there is nothing to stop you taking part from home:D

We love Beks take on our Sketch for March using the FREE Hybrid Frame download...

So do you want to share your take on this fun sketch?

Altogether Now

It has been really interesting to see our styles next to each other...

Sitting back and thinking about how each of our styles are different and what makes our pages 'ours' I can really see our personalities shine through in each of the styles.

Eileen loves clean and simple lines, adores 'white space' and finds it extremely difficult to create busy LOs and does't do freestyle! Eileen finds herself visually drawn to clusters of embellishments so this is a style that she oftened repeats in one form or another. Oh and paint has only recently become part of her vocabulary!!!

Janice really like a cleans, classic look and loves how she can cluster a very tiny amount of embellishments and patterned paper to give that 'wow' factor without overwhelming her photographs.

Lorraine always likes to add a little quirky or cute element, she LOVES Sassafras and October Afternoon for there ranges with those little design traits!

Nicola loves lumpy bumpy LO's with lots of texture and dimension, she don't really 'do' straight lines or measuring and likes to layer up as much as she can too!

Lisa loves really plain one photo layouts, you know the one's 'all clustered up in a corner'! Every time she tries to add more it always looks too busy. She loves Cosmo Cricket papers and adore the quirkiness of Sassafras too, especially when teamed with white or black cardstock.

Love Your Paint...

then you could have a go at adding some to your design as Eileen has done here.

Check out how Eileen has altered the frames by cutting out some of the doodled border away - what a cool idea!

Our sketches are an ideal way to use up all those those left overs and supplies that you have so do bring them along on the day and you will go away feeling really virtuous at having used them:D

Another Beautiful Take

We are hoping that all these ideas and examples will enable you all to bring along the right photos and supplies on the day - that does makes such as difference to being able to fully complete your designs in your own style.

We have gained a lot of experience over the last six years on what makes a great class, be it at a weekend event or a more casual day event such as a crop so have drawn on this to create classes that are just right for you!

Our ethos has always been:

A teacher's purpose is not to create students in his
own image, but to develop students who can create
their own image. ~Author Unknown

To help you on your way to finding your own image and style we ourselves have created our examples in our very own personal style and hope that armed with sketches (as below), at least 5 examples and other tools you will find it an enjoyable experience on the discovery of your unique style and find the journey a fun one along the way!

Janice has enjoyed creating her lovely example below:

Eileen will be sharing her take on this gorgeous sketch soon too. You will start to be able to spot our five different styles soon without us even putting our names to the LO's :D

If you are visiting the Blog to take part remotely as invited over on UKS earlier today then welcome!:D

Fancy Another Stunning Example

Nicola has been busy designing her take on the Sketch for March, again using the frame but she has printed it out on a different colour background for a totally different feel...

Nicola loves to produce tactile pages so it is no surprise that she has added some pretty curls of ribbons and paper flowers...

It is only just over 2 weeks away now until we meet for the last time at Wyverstone before our new changes at Create & Co Martlesham, we know you are all going to love what we have planned and thank you all for the lovely emails and calls telling us how excited you are about all the wonderful things we have in store for this rest of the year.

If you take another peek at the diary you will spot a couple more special event days have been added with more to follow before next week >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Layout Examples For March

We have been having fun with designing some of our own interpretations of the sketch for March.

Don't forget you will receive free of charge two frames (as used below) so just bring along a backing paper or cardstock two photos to fit within the frames (approx 4"x4") and any other little embellishment or letters you would like to use.

We will be bringing the last of the GoGo sale shop so if you would rather travel super light just bring your tool bag and photos!

Check out Lisa's example below...

I just love this sketch, it really does scream out my style. It's quite simple, but can be dressed up if you like the more fancy style of scrapbooking. The frame is just ideal for a 4" x 3 1/2 photo (landscape) Here I have created the layout with March's ScrapaGoGo create kit, using the fantastic free Hybrids that you can download every month.
These are two of my favourite photos of Mia from last year, I love the one with the missing front teeth, I think we all have a photo of ourselves without teeth hiding away somewhere!!

The second design has been created by Lorraine - see how different these frames look with different papers and embellishments!

Funky and fun doodled frames are a real treat to use and are perfect for baby photos that you want to give a more quirky feel to rather than the traditional pinks/blues and delicate designs off many baby ranges. Don't be afraid to use a patterned paper as a background to the design, as you can see it really does work with the cluster of frames, journal spots and elements.

Thank you for stopping by and if you are coming along to our March crop and wish to receive your free frames please do not forget to email:D

Further designer examples will follow shortly.

March Sketch

Once a month we will be running a sketch challenge and to kick start us we have a gorgeous sketch template created by Vicki Parker.

The template for use if you prefer to 'digi design' can be downloaded {HERE}

The frames will be supplied FREE at March Crop (the last time we are at Wyverstone) but we thought we would share the sketch a little earlier so you can be selecting photos and papers.

Check back towards the end of the week for an example.
